2.7 and a P0300 CODE

installed a 2.7 setup at the Fredrick meet today, drove all the way home fine. turned the car off, then back on like 10 min later to go get food and 5 min into my drive i threw a P0300 code..Random Multiple Misfire..WHAT SHOULD I DO..Please help..Thankx

How do your spark plugs look, are they gapped right?

i didnt really have a big hand in the install..lol.. i can always check them in the mornin, what should they be gapped at?

Should be gapped to .035"

Well if you didnt have a tune to go along with the 2.7, then that may be your problem

they wouldn't clear it for him....the plugs are suspect. If that doesn't solve it then I will come back up there and work on it some more.

ok thanks..im goin to check them now

do i need to disconect the negative on the battery before i check them, will i loose my tune if i do

regaped and cleaned and the light stays on.. will it go off after the prob is fixed or does it need to be cleared

ok..although at idle the rpms dont stay constant..jump from like 790 to 810

but it did that before the light, i disconected the negative for a while to see if the code goes away

it has to go through 3 cycles before its is cleared so leve it be for a little.

if the misfires are at idle, check for vacuume leaks perhaps at the intake piping after the MAF sensor, or anywhere after the MAF sensor actually....injector o-rings....vacuume lines....etc..

I disconected the batery and the light is gone SO FAR..cant find ZEX plugs anywhere

Same thing happened to me right after my install and tune. Luckily I have the Aeroforce so I cleared the code. My tuner, Mase, said it was because of the 91 octane I had in there. Filled it up with 94 and I haven;t had the light come on since. What octane level is your tune for?

i dunno, it was DOC tuned, i run 93 though
