Hello everyone I am new to the Forum!!

I have an issue with the speed selector for my HVAC Blower motor. Due to the way it failed I don't believe it is the speed resistor. It started failing a few months back. The first signs of the problem where when I lost speed 2 and 4 of the blower motor. The two speeds worked fine and there is no loss of power in the blower motor.

After this happened symptoms got a little more confusing. In the off position the motor would run and in position 1 the motor would be off. The blower would still work in position 2 and 4.

The other day the entire system stopped working. I have no fan speed control what so ever. Is their any other type of control unit or is it still most likely the resistor? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a a great afternoon!

 

Definitely try replacing the resistor. There's a how to here with the part number and how to get to it.
