2006 SS/SC new intercooler pump and intercooler problem

Hey guys i just installed a new intercooler and IC pump this weekend just went with stock exchanges on both since I have 0 mods. I pulled the bleed screw on top of the intercooler and pulled coolant until it came out of the screw hole. Reinstalled and filled again till i had coolant in my filler neck. Now my question is I turned the key to On but did not start the car and waited to see if the pump would kick on I never seen coolant leave the neck. I capped the filler neck and went for a short drive when i came back the neck was completely empty so i refilled and did the same thing again same result. Empty neck refilled, turned the key to On position to look for coolant moving in neck and still nothing? Could I have a bad pump or something? How can i tell if my pump is getting power?

I don't believe on stock settings the pump runs with the key to on...I believe it has to be running. The system is probably just bleeding itself out while you drive it. Are you noticing coolant anywhere leaking or pooling after you drive it?

It'll only be on if programmed. Stock it's not. Just start the car with the cap off and you'll be able to get most of the system filled within 20 minutes or so.

Yes, the pump should be pumping right after the engine is running.

Pump doesn't come on with the key in ON position... Car has to be completely on. The only way u can get it to come on with key in ON position is by tune or zzp 1.0 PCM

Since this is related to my issue.....

How can you tell if the pump is bad?
No way to monitor IATs.

Cant get a good feel on the pump itself since it carries all the vibration from the engine too.

I would suggest checking the fuse for the IC pump as well. i bought a replacement for mine and it still didnt work and so i checked the fuse and it was blown. Put one of the spares in and it started right up.

To tell if its running you can put a mcdonalds type straw into factory filler neck and it should be flowing from left to right or passenger side to drivers. Try it with car off to see how straw reacts then start car and see how straw reacts but honestly you should be able to just look into the filler neck and see fluid movement if not while car is still running lightly tap intercooler pump and see if movement now. If not its dead. Good luck.
