ABS locking up?
Hey guys.
Well, until a few weeks ago, Pittsburgh has had a pretty mild winter. But now, in the home stretch, it threw us a sucker punch before it departs.
My girlfriend lives in kinda the middle of nowhere. The road crew gets there waaaay last. So I often have to go wheelin' in the Coby. lol. Everything worked great until some ice killed the tread on my tires and one false move killed my ABS it seems like.
Here's what happened. I was going down a steep hill and it started to slide. ABS kicked on. The hill is really steep so I FLOORED the pedal. I stopped. But then ever since then, if the ABS kicks on, it works for a second then just locks up like it's not doing anything. Then the ABS light stays on until I turn my car off then on again.
It's manage-able, it just sucks. Any ideas as to what's up?
Thanks..

something like that happened to me too where i had my ABS light on and the ABS didnt work....turned out to be a lose ground somewhere and it was screwing with the ABS... just bring the car into service and have them check it out.

If your warrenty just ran out I'd still go back ASAP seeing how your ABS is a HUGE safty issue. Besidessometimes the dealer can fix things under warrenty if it juuuuust ran out. I'd at least check to be on the safe side.
