Bad Battery?

So I went to start my car an hour ago and it wouldnt start. I didnt leave any of the lights on or anything like that and the last time I drove it was Sunday but I have been noticing recently that when I go to start the car up it sounds weaker (best way i can explain it). So my buddy jumped my car so I could drive to autozone and have them test my battery. So they tested it and the results were that it was charged but it was "bad bettery" (I looked at the screen of the tester and sure enough thats what it said). So $130 later I got a new battery but I am wondering, has anyone else had a problem like this with their battery being charged but bad? They told me at autozone it might be a problem with my alternator.

it sounds like it has a short in it. it has voltage but once a load is placed on it, voltage drops and it has no cranking amps

I replaced the battery in my gf's old Celica last weekend. Had problems last October, but didn't get around to fixing it until now. We charged it for like 45 minutes. The lights and stuff would turn on, but it didn't have enough power to turn over. Took the battery to Car Quest to test it. The first test failed, and so the machine did an hour test where it charged the battery fully. It turned out to be completely shot.

Not really the same situation as you, but I figured I'd share.

Same problem I had. Washed car and had radio on, went to restart and slow crank no start. Waited a while with everything off and it slow cranked but started. I was always charging at 15+ volts too.

Batteries end up with bad cells all the time. Can cause all sorts of issues...

all auto zone had was duralast gold battery for $130. It pisses me off because if my battery had just lasted 2-3 more days until I finished the semester and was back home I could have gotten a battery for $60 because where I work we have a deal with an autoparts store for like 50% off almost everything

well I bought the battery in New Haven, Connecticut and now I am back in Enfield CT (60 miles away from New Haven). Could I return the battery to any autozone or does it have to be the one in new haven?

on my 96 Galant, I was up at my girlfriends house and slept overnight, came out the next morning to go to work and it wouldn't start. Just dead in the water. Jumped it with her car and drove the 50 miles to work and it was fine. Shut the car off, and went to work. Came out an hour later to get something and wanted to see if it would crank. It wouldn't, so i jumped it and drove to auto zone. Bad battery, replaced it myself and never had an issue.

My 06 LSJ's battery exploded when I took a trip to Minnesota. I had a rotten egg smell for awhile and thought my cat was going bad, turns out my battery swelled and spewed sulfuric acid all over my trunk. All my clothes etc were covered in it, and my tools were too. They started rusting as it ate through the metal. I covered it in Baking soda to neutralize the acid. Replaced battery and that battery was in it when I sold it haha
