If this car hadn't been so far from me I would have bought it. I had messaged the dealer, who said he would ship it. In the end I didn't want to buy a car I couldn't see. Sorry to hear and see what happened. I am glad I backed off.

I haven't looked in this thread in a while and wondered when did it turn into a build thread? What all are you planning on doing? I see you said you bought a head that had aftermarket cams in it? Which cams are they?

i bought a head that had stock cams in it. because i didnt want to pay 600+ for cams, $300 for springs, $300 for injectors and whatever for a tune.

it took me a long time to find cams for it. i got a refund on the head because they had it listed like it was ready to run, but it had a bunch of bent valves and the timing chain guide bolt hole was all fucked up

i worked on it yesterday. almost done. been kinda a pita but not too bad i guess. just kinda lame having to take so much **** off to time the motor.

had to take off the motor mount belt tensioner and front timing cover. i thought i had it timed right without taking off the cover and making sure on the crank sprocket... but its a good thing i did because it was a tooth off LOL....

i might try and finish it today. the only thing left thats a bitch is one of the exhaust bolts is stuck on around the resonator behind the cat. i got one off with wd40 and an impact, but the other one just wasted the nut so i'm just going to cut/grind it off.

this is my when i realized i had to take the cam sprocket off to get at that one fucked up retarded tiny headbolt.

had an hour yesterday. cut that stuck bolt off and put the exhaust on. the long tube barely fit in there with the valve cover off.

I finsihed it yesterday. It runs great fired right up first try. It has the hanging idle issue but I'll just keep driving it until it relearns. Installing the dual pass and heat exchanger was a pita. I forgot to change the cores in the intake. I'll have to do it some other time

As for the eBay long tube. It fit perfectly up to the stock cat back. I used the included gaskets and there is no leaks. I used an impact on the v band but was careful.

The stock exhaust gasket port holes were tiny couldn't use a stock one unless you worked it over pretty good.

I don't see anything wrong with the eBay long tube right now

Im only getting 10hg vacuum at idle. I hope it has something to do with the idle relearn. I don't see any vacuum leaks anywhere and the car doesn't act like it. It just does that super annoying hanging idle for a few seconds especially after going through first

The hanging idle is very annoying. Wish there was a shortcut that didn't cost $$$.

I can see in torque right when I press clutch in the throttle position % goes up instantly. The vacuum goes to pretty normal to like 10-12 when the idle hangs... At idle the vacuum is around 15hg now. I guess it's getting better but it's extremely annoying especially with the obnoxious exhaust.
