barley 5psi of boost
barley 5psi of boost
I drove my car today and everything was fine bluiding boost like normal, well tonight i went to drive home and it will only make 5psi max full throttle, i looked at the charges pipes quick and everything looked to be on and tight. I was having problem with a sensor regarding boost level and i believe bypass valve a little bit ago. Had it into the dealer and it was fixed or patched up lol. There is not cel right now and i tried boosting a couple of times, you can hear just then faintes part of boost but it isnt loading up like it should. Any ideas? im heaistant to take it to the dealer because that had a hell of a time duplicate the senor issue and then were puzzled at fixing it. Car is stock other then stage 1 and its an 09 ss just an fyi
Yes i have stage 1 installed, had it on the car for about 3 weeks until that first problem came up. That problem was when i would be cruising on the highway it would sound like a bov keep going off every three seconds. Wouldn't do it all the time and they had to duplicate it to find out what to do. Anyways the said it was a sensor etc. Now this problem when i floor it only 5psi of boost max. But the weird thing is i just left work and i was driving normal and noticed it was build boost so i got on it and it went up to 19 no problem. So it seems that this problem is going to be intermittent also. Lol I just got my dp and luckily haven't put it on yet. Im gonna wait to see whats with this problem.
Same issue
My car would suddenly not get over 5-6 psi also. And i also have the upgrade and have seen mine hit near 21 psi.
the car is very sluggish when this happens. and when i actually build up any boost, when the blow off happens, it sounds like something is surging and makes a terrible sound.
This happened once a couple months ago, then i found out that GM was having issues making the part so my car was in the shop for 48 days.
I just took my car back a couple days ago because it was doing the same thing. but it was also running super rich sometimes.
I had been watching the a/f gauge and it happened a lot when i was on the interstate with cruise control on. the a/f would cut back to 10-11 and then shoot up to 16-17, and the car would hesitate and then surge forward. really annoying. a couple times when i was stopped and had the clutch in, the a/f would go down and the car would almost cut off.
my suggestion is that you take it into the shop and keep telling them to check it until the problem happens again.
the blow off issue i had was not constant but happened here and there, and would randomly start/stop while driving. i was lucky enough to have to issue occur the whole time i was driving to the dealer and then i was able to show the tech what exactly it was doing.
here is the exact item listed on the service request they replaced the first time (which im sure they will replace again) "CHARGE AIR BYPASS VALVE "
also, just as a side not, GM will only offer to give you something twice (car payment/extra warrenty). even if your car has been in the shop for 48 days and you are making payments on the car/insurance/xm.

what do you mean gm will only offer to give you something twice. They have to keep fixing it or lemon the car, the will lose in court if the would deny your warranty, unless your moded etc we all know about that...
