Battery issue?

Hey peeps. Yesterday I drove to meet some friends at a random parking lot and since it was a gloomy day I drove with my parking lights on. I got there, parked (left the parking lights on), and turned the car off. It was not even ten minutes when we decided to take off that I tried to start up the car and nothing. It would just click and not start up. Lights and radio would still be on. So we figured it was just a dead battery and so we jump started and was back to normal. Have not had a problem since. Car starts normally without hesitations.

I had once left the parking lights on like for an entire work shift and would not drain the battery. I don't get why just sitting a few minutes with parking lights on would drain it so fast. Is the battery already bad? The car has 38K mi and its the factory battery and all I could think of is that my HIDs are drawing caused my battery to go bad. Don't have any sound system upgrades besides the H/U.

Is this a logic theory? I thought the battery would last longer. I haven't had time to go check the battery at autozone, but will go this weekend. I did a search on this but couldn't find anything similar.

Thoughts?

Yeah man. Its that time. And HID's dont draw as much juice as regular headlights. So no worries there.

I've heard from numerous people out and about that the batteries the Cobalts got aren't very good.

+1 to the death phase comments and the notion that winter will eat whats left.
