Bcm... Help!!

Dealer is saying my BCM is bad... they want $700 for parts and labor to replace it. My question is, can I buy a used BCM and have them program it? They’re saying I can’t? It’s a one vin and done type deal. So why does my local junk yard have a BCM that will work for $50?

I'm sure you can get a BCM programmed to your VIN. I bought a spare ECM from
https://www.flashmastersecm.com/pages/about-us, I just gave them my VIN and they programmed it before shipping it to me. I would think you should have similar options for a BCM. They probably do have to be programmed to your VIN though.

Has to be the right part number for the vehicle. there was multiple options for each year even though they all look the same. A used one can be programmed but the mileage will show whatever the used bcm had in it, no way around that but programming a new one with correct mileage. So if you ever sell the vehicle you could get hit it mileage fraud if you don't keep a record of the change.
