boost issues

So I recently just bought a ss sedan turbocharged from my buddy it wasn't making boost but makes noises as the turbo and intake are still working correctly. I went and ran the code at autozone p0101 which is Maf sensor, I bought a new maf sensor and they didn't solve the problem I also bought a new purge selanoid that didn't fix it either. I checked all the couplings on the charge pipes and the intake and everything seems to be fine. Anyways after I fixed the maf and purge selanoid I took it for a ride got up to 20 lbs of boost twice then the 3rd pull no boost at all.. Idk what this could be.. Plz help.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to check it all out tomorrow when I get home. I heard the best way to check for vacuum leaks is to use smoke or soapy water...

Tighten all the clamps still no boost tried the water and soap vacuum leak test and I found nothing. I found I do have a exhaust leak were the cat back meets the muffler. I don't think that would be the issue though... Help...

You get 4 pounds while driving or doing the boost leak test?

I didn't do the Boost leak test yet. I did the water and soap and sprayed all the vacuum lines and I didn't notice any leaks. My vacuum is at 19 and kinda moves back and forth while I'm ideling... What do you recommend..

Soap and water won't bubble up during an idle because you are drawing a vacuum. You need to do the boost test and pressurize the system, then with the system pressurized use soap and water. Any leaking air will make bubbles. I am willing to bet you won't need soap and water and you'll hear the leak.

What kind of bolt-ons do you have? Or are you stock

I'm fully bolted. I've checked all the clamps on charge pies and intake and everything I just can't seem to find the issue. I do have a exhaust leak but that's not why it's throwing a p0101.

You have a boost leak. Do a proper boost leak test like the one linked in a previous comment. Making sure the clamps are there and tight doesnt work end of story.

yes do a boost leak test, u can check the clamps all u want, u wont find the leaks without doing a boost leak test, some may only show up at a certain psi, some may show up right away. as soon as u put compressed air into the system u will hear the leaks if there are any.

Making a boost leak tester is realitively cheap and its a tool you can always use on these cars to troubleshoot and will save you a lot of head aches down the road. I can't even tell you how many times I've used mine

If the exhaust leak is between the exhaust side of the head and the turbine side of the tubro then yes. Where is the exhaust leak located?

Looks good. Just make sure...that whatever compressor or how ever you are pressurizing your system, bring that **** down to like 15-20psi or you will blow things apart...
