Brake lights don't work... :(
Ok, so I have the k2motor LED tail lights. I went to the junk yard yesterday and bought an LED strip from an Impala so I can do my third brake light.
Got it hooked up. (I first had the neg and pos prongs backwards the first time) and it looked great.
Then I noticed that with my car OFF and hitting the brake only the third brake light lit up.
Now I have NO brake lights. The LED strip is not working anymore, I even put the third brake light bulbs back in (stock) and still nothing worked.
I have Hazards and turn signals, and the LED tails light up but will not get brighter when I hit the brake. They do get brighter when hazards and turn signals go on though.
Did I mess my electrical system up? Please help!
UPDATE - It was the fuse. Now I want to know what happened. Why the fuse blew, cause everything was working fine until the day after installation. Did anyone have to use a resistor or anything on the LED third brake light to make the fuse not blow?

Only the third brake light with the car shut off is how it's supposed to be. Screwed me up the first time I realized it too lol. Took it to the stealership and they looked at me like I was crazy.

That's what I have. DO you know why now NONE of my brake lights work? My outer ones light up if my head lights are on, but not when I hit the brake..
I'll try disconnecting my battery for 10 min. to see if it does anything.

^ same here. only the third BL lights up when car is off.
try unplugging the third brake light and see if thats causing it. if the two outters work theres your issue. also, check the fuse

^^^ I unplugged it, and even changed it back to stock... still nothing...
I'll check the fuse out later!.. at work.
EDIT - Yup, it was the fuse. But, why did the fuse blow? Everything was working fine for a day, and then stopped. Do I need a resistor or something else?

I feel like I read the same conversation twice.. Anyway, didn't you say you had the neg and pos hooked up backwards on the high mount?
Could be a possible cause. Other than that, crossing of wires. If it doesn't do it again then I wouldn't worry to much about it.

You did read the conversation twice
, I just posted the update in the OP so that everyone didn't read through all the posts to realize it was resolved.
But yeah, switching the wires was probably the issue. Got it hooked up again, and everything seems fine. We'll see when I go out and start my car in a few minutes lol.
