cant seem to put car in reverse...

alright, a quick rundown of problems on car...

I have a bent clutch rod, which will be replaced this weekend with a zzp adjustable.
basicaly, the shifter gets "stuck" and won't click into reverse. all other gears are smooth, but reverse doesn't like me.... sometimes I can pump the clutch a few times and it will decide to go in. I do need a trany fluid change, I lost a bit of fluid swapping axels.

ideas?

that's what I've been doing. its only been having trouble for about a week, and t its only been about 2 days where the first then reverse trick doesn't work. I bought a exedy clutch and pressure plate a while back. the pressure plate is way heavier, so I guess the stock clutch rod wasn't strong enough and bent.. not sure if that's the cause of the difficulty, but I'm hoping so...

If the clutch can't fully disengage because of the rod that's probably the issue.

Also reverse is a straight cut gear while the others are not. In my old cavalier I had to put it in first then first and sometimes start letting off the clutch before it would pop in.

Heres the fix:

Start Vehicle.
Put in Neutral
Release E-brake
Open Drivers Door
Place Left Foot on Ground
Push Like ************ in a rearward motion.

Reverse Fixed

Mine is occasionally difficult when cold, just gotta push it into 3rd or 4th before dropping it into reverse. If that doesn't work roll the car back a bit while holding it against the reverse gate lightly. It'll drop in eventually.
