Cap broke off gear selector

I noticed the cap started feeling loose, not the entire big knob, just the cap that maps out the gears. The other day it broke off in my hand.

I took it into the dealer the other day, the are replacing it today under warranty. They did mention it was like $160.00CAN to repair 0_o

Woot, just got the call that it's done, 2 hours in the shop. Heh, they want the old parts back.

Yep, it's a common problem. Either bye a STS (HURST) or glue it.

The $160 was the cost of the part, which was covered. Didn't cost me a cent.

mine broke within a month but they replaced it after waiting for almost a month for it to come in.. no probs with the new one.. but the downside was always getting burned by the allen skrew during our 118+ summers here

That was the worst part, having that damn screw poke your palm. Had to change gears with my hand sideways on the knob, as opposed to over the top like I'm used to.

Super Glue? I don't know, just knowing I had to glue a part back on because of sloppy craftsmanship... I'm glad the part was replaced.

don't trust it. same thing happened to me... it's in the construction and the parts/supplies used to put it on. A month or so later it fell right back off. I just got an aftermarket one made of all steel and called it a day.

For $10 more you could have gotten the one with LCD screen showing which gear you were in.......Just saying
