Car moves when clutch is let out in neutral

Hey guys I just bought an '06 ss supercharged a little over a month ago and I noticed some weird things with it lately. When I start it up especially when it's cold out and let out the clutch the car tries to roll forwards a little bit and the rpms die down a little, almost as if it's in gear but it's not. Also I noticed when it's cold out it's pretty hard to shift into any gear, until after about half an hour of driving. What could this be?

The wanting to roll when its not in gear I'll let someone who has experienced this chime in. These cars are notorious for being shitty to get into gear in the cold.

well yeah just to make sure i and you understand, is the car really trying to move or is it because the ebrake is not up? because it will roll unless you are on perfectly even ground....

and yeah the transmissions/clutch engagement is a little wierd until it all gets warm

Its a bitch. I was running late to work one day. Found that at least with mine if you push it back a foot or so it would go into gear. Its funky.

Cold out does make shifting harder. Rolling when not in gear? Is that a real question? Is ur brake on? Cause if u take it out of gear and the ground is kinda sloped it will roll.

I was gonna just repeat what you guys said. You're probably on the slightest slope.

The fluid in the trans is cold.

This car must be your first manual.

The hard shifting with cold fluid is normal.

However, if the car is in the nuetral position and you let the clutch out the car should not move (on flast ground). If the car's gear is engaged while the shifter is in nuetral, I would suspect bent cables first.

He said the rpms die down like its grabbing a gear, so I don't think its just him being on non level ground. If he wasn't on level ground the car would roll regardless if the clutch was in or not, provided he wasn't in gear and didn't have a brake engaged.

Cables might be bent like ^^ mentioned.

No **** the car will roll on neutral, but when I'm on flat ground and it rolls when taking my foot off the clutch...... It's like it's in gear. I could take a vid if you don't believe me. Like when I let out the clutch while it's in neutral the rpms die down and the car moves, on completely flat ground.

Heeter understands

Or maybe the rpm dies down after the initial warm up in the cold. When I start my car it idles around 2k then after about 30 seconds it goes down to about 900

Nope, once I push the clutch back in they jump right up, or if I just let it sit they jump right back up. I'll go take a video.

being at sea level made the 42's just be not enough. I swapped in 60s and am dialing them in. Even completely dialed in the 42's were running 122% duty cycle at 6800 RPM. 60's not even dialed in do not even see 70% at 7000 rpm on the 3.06 pulley.

Maybe your tranny oil is in need of change and is extremely thick. There's always some resistance when the clutch is out in neutral. If you lift the front of the car and put it in neutral the wheels will spin

I don't think the car is "half in gear". It would be making terrible sounds if that were the case.... Like a grinding sound.

No it's not half in gear. If I were to lift the front of the car off the ground, push clutch in and put it in neutral, when I let the clutch out the wheels would start spinning for a second.

Thats odd OP. I would check the cables and shifter. And yes as everyone says. Driving when super cold will make the transmission more stiff. Let it warm up a bit before driving. I try to let mine get up to 140 before I start laying into it at all.
