Car Problems

Ok, So i am having a problem with the car.

If I really get on my car it seems like the rev limiter is kicking in around 5000 RPM kinda...Basicly I am gunning it and @ 5000 rpm it seems almost like a miss over something, a exhaust pop like the rev limiter kicks in and ti does it about 3 times until it shift gears near red line.

Any ideas?
Spark Plugs?
Fuel Injectors????

I have a 2.2 with 87,000 miles, an Intake Mod (AEM DRY FLOW), 2.0 Headers and DP, and a CA Exhaust but this was happening before the exhaust was put on. Thats really the only performance mods i have.

anyone?

Changed your fuel filter lately? Sounds like it's starving for gas when it gets wound up.
