Car wouldn't move this morning

I got in my car, took the parking brake off and tried to move. The car stayed there like the brakes were on and I was giving it a good amount of gas. The brakes finally seemed to let go and the wheels struggled to move from their position. When I used the brakes at the first stop sign I came to they sounded pretty awful, like metal on metal and maybe a little bit of wobbling.

my brakes do it to. Say it rains when i get in my car after i was driving it in the rain. I will release the e-brake and then my car will stay stuck there and i have to go up to about 2500 rpm to break loose. Then they sound horrible.

The sensor is attatched to the handle, not the calipers. It only dings if you have the handle clicked up. If you release the handle, but the cable is frozen, you will not get a chime or DIC message. It's happened to me before.

It's not GOOD, but it happens. If possible, it's best not to set the e-brake when conditions are right for it to freeze. Luckily where I live now, I can just put it in gear and forget it (but I still chock the wheels to be **** retentive), but at my old apartment I had to park on a hill, so I HAD to set the brake, and that's when they'd freeze.

nearly all cars do this I remember fixing one that had a penny or some piece of metal wedged in there making a contact and saying the "brake" was on when in fact it wasn't

My car did that once, only it froze open. Completely seized up and had to get it replaced under warranty.

It is a 2009 SS/TC by the way. I had just got back from doing pizza deliveries and it was snowing almost the whole time and I didn't drive my car from saturday night until monday morning.

Yeah your calipers froze. Not a huge issue, but not necessarily a good thing either. Just be sure to not set your e-brake in cold weather if at all possible.
