Changed the headlights... its not locking in

One of my headlights went out... I thought it would be an easy fix, go to the auto store pick up a new bulb, pop it in... move on with life.

Found the following youtube video which helped me remove the headlight:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1wJUeuwaUg

but it doesn't show how to replace the bulb (which should be even easier, right?)... It was easy to remove the bulb, but putting it back on is another story... I gave up after about an hour of trying to lock it back in place... I couldn't get the bulb to fit like it was when I removed it. There's that black circle thing you have to turn counter clock wise to take off the socket with the bulb... so my problem is putting that back... I can't get it to lock back into place. i put the headlight back in cause I need to drive my car around, but I obviously can't leave it all lose like that. Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks.

it should be very easy to turn back into place. the bulb just sits in the slots. are you sure you have the black piece facing the right direction?

yep... I even took out the new bulb and tried to place the old one back in the slot by itself, it didn't fit perfect. The red band that's around the bulb thing isn't going into place. maybe I'm too weak.

^^^ you dont turn the bulb. it only sits in the headlight. the black shroud around it is what holds it in place

there are 3 notches in the inside part of the bulb those match up with where the bulb sits in the housing. it will slide right in with minimal effort. then you put the black retainer on and plug her back in. very simple.
