Changed plugs now running rough

Hey all,
I changed my plugs today using NGK platinum plugs. No problems until I put it all together, started it up and now runs rough. Could one of the coil packs have gone bad, and if so, how do I check? The reason I ask is because when I removed the boot to check, the thing the spring presses onto the bottom of the coil pack (dont know the proper name) had corrosion. What could the other possibilities be?
The motor is a 2.4 stock. The plugs were gapped to .040.
Thanks
Jason

That gap is about right for the N/A cars.

Check your coil pack connections.

If the inside of one of the coil packs has corrosion. Does that mean the pack is shot? Never dealt with coil packs before, just the good ol distributors...

You should be throwing a code for misfires if a coil went bad. If thats the case then you swap coil packs with another cylinder and see if the misfire code follows.
