Check Engine light after oil change
Check Engine light after oil change
I took my 08 Cobalt to get seviced today for an oil change. I've taken it to this spot multiple times with no issues. This time around when they completed the oil change the engine light stayed on. It was not on previously. It doesnt blink. Its just permanently on now. I took the car to get the engine light expected and P0016 code came up. Crank shaft sensor. I did some research and that sensor seems to be located below the oil filter. Is it possible the shifted it when they serviced the car?
The car doesnt make any noises when running. It still turns on just fine. Has anyone experienced this?

Wow, that's pretty low mileage, but ya never know, and if it's making noise, I'd definitely take it back. Timing chain guide could have broke. let us know what they find. Was it making noise before the oil change?
They changed the crank shaft sensor. The check engine light is still on and the same code keeps coming up.
The car was left over night. When I started this morning it made a squeel noise. It deive but when I am at a full stop it feels rough. Like a noticeable vibration. Not jolting or bucking.
Anyone have any ideas? I thiiinnk it the timing chain. I read some other post on here that mention it. But idk. Im going to do more research.
