Cobalt SS No crank, No start, Theft Light -HELP

Okay so I bought this car and haven't heard it run yet. I figured the car wouldnt start because of a fuse or something but i've checked all of them and they are all good. I checked the battery terminals, bought a new battery, checked the grounds that I could find and still nothing. Even tried the relearn procedure for the passlock and I cant even get the theft light to go off.

Heres what happens:

I turn the key to on and all the dash lights up, and then the lights go out.

Immediately the theft light comes on and the display says "POWER STEERING" and "LOW FUEL"

I try leaving the key in the on position for 10, 15, 20 minutes and then a half hour but it never goes out. It just stays solid.

I figure theres a problem with the TCM, BCM, or ignition switch, but quite honestly i'd like to bypass this whole engine disabling theft system all together.

I found a bypass kit that supposedly will bypass this system, but is there any way that I can make sure that it will work?? Like can i jump a relay or run a wire to the starter to make sure that this is what is causing the problem and not something else?

The kit has a 30 day money back garuntee so i can try it and see, but i'm wondering if theres anything i'm missing, or anything I can do to make sure its the tcm or ignition switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Want to hear this thing run already lol.

Power steering and low fuel is usually a PCM/BCM fault issue. How modded is the car? Possible that it doesn't have the correct computer in it at this point?

Try adding another ground from the engine, intake manifold area to the chassis. I had a similar issue and that fixed it.

All the car has is a full exhaust, header and everything. Thats all thats done to it besides a couple gauges. The PCM was recently out because he changed the clutch in the car, could something have happened?

How did you go about doing that? Do you have some pictures or something. I also just put a new ignition switch in it and tried the relearn again with no avail. Still the same problems.

The bypass system i'm looking at is the newrockies bypass. But if its the PCM this wouldnt do anything would it? They have a 30 day money back guarantee so if it doesn't solve my issues i'll just return it. Appearantly it bypasses the BCM and sends the correct signal straight to the PCM and allows ignition.

I have a saab manifold and it has extra bolt holes. Ran a 6g amp wire from one of those to the upper radiator mount. I can get picts later.

If he changed the clutch, then he pulled out the fuse block also. Make sure everything is connected correctly under the fuse box.

If the PCM was damaged and not communicating properly it would give those issues. It's not necessarily just a theftlock issue.

Well how much would a PCM run me? That's a dealer part I presume.

Yeah I'll do this today. Good idea I didn't really think about that! I'll let you know what happens after I check the PCM and fuse box connections

the battery for my 2.2 actually died yesterday and i had the same issue, the theft light came on but my car actually started but it was running like crap, what i did was i pressed and depressed the brake pedal several times and after maybe ill say like 10 times everything went back to normal running wise (the light was still on) i turned off the car after a few mins of running then turned the car back on and it was gone. worth a shot hope it helps.

I ended up finding a ground wire hanging so I blocked it up to the throttle body and added another to the block and it started right up! What a relief!
