Cobolt SS Supercharged Idle

I just picked up my '06 SS Supercharged, The car is a blast

One problem though, when I come stop, sometimes the idle will go from 500rpm to 1200, in a loop for about 5 seconds. If I let it sit, or hit the gas, the idle will drop down to 700rpm and everything is good.

Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks,

Lots of people (not me) but I dont think its anything to be too concerned ...next time you are in at the dealer see if they can do something about it ...usually there is a ISC (idle control screw) that you can adjust with a coin to fix it

There is a TSB on cold start idle quality.

Your dealership can do a reflash to fix the issue.

It's brand new, currently has 550 miles on it. It's done it since I got it.

The cobalt and every car out is computerized. This means that there is no adjustment screw for idle. You must be a backyard repairman with a $300 golden frinking screwdriver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine did it when it was new... After a little bit it just stopped... seemed related to AC compressor being engaged. I would get your PCM flashed if you can anyways though... couldnt hurt anything.

Mine hasn't done it as often as when I first got it. Matter of fact it hasn't done it in a while. (knock on wood)

Same problem

Just picked up my SS/SC, and have experienced the same issue.

It happens when the car is warm, that's the only thing consistent I have found so far. My car had 18miles when I picked it up.

Last couple of of times, I muted the radio and the idle came back, could be a fluke however.

I hate dealership garages, so I'm hoping it will go away.

I think it was a coincidence (however you spell that). It should become less and less common. I think it is a matter of the computer learning it's calibrations. Mine became less frequent the more I drove it.

It does become much less frequent. My SS SC hasn't done it for about a week now.

It seems to do it if you rev it up or are driving and have the clutch in between gears for a period of time. when stopped and rev it up it might be there to insure all the fuel was burned are it was reved up??? maybe just a guess. I dunno about the in between gears time.
