cold air problems

i just added a cold air made with a k&n filter. On my first test drive i noticed that we started to bog out (really bad) at around the 4000 RPM range. I have the stage 2 from GM installed but I DO NOT have colder plugs yet could this be my problem i also do not have any codes reading.

Did you unplug the battery and reconnect it, we had the same issue on the ion. I disconnected the batery and reconnected it, and everything was fine there after.

when you put in your MAS did you touch it by any chance? Check the connection to the MAS. I just installed my Injen intake, and no problems what so ever.

If I understand correctly..... and I seldom do.... but I believe if you touched the MAF it could be giving you fals readings... the MAF is a tuchy little bugger and the oils off your skill could confuse it a bit

Hey guys,
Remember that the cold air filters carry in the element a small amount of oil , sometimes too much is put on at the factory and the excess oil gets sucked out into the air way which comes into contact with the air flow sensor throwing it off and causing over-fueling ..... you should "at the worst" get 12.8/100km and that shuold only be in the winter when it's realy cold.... try spraying some carb cleaner at the element but not too much...then again? I'm not sure if that might be too harsh....find out first from a qualified mechanic... but any which way I thing that sensor is contaminated.

Did you make sure to install the mass air flow sensor properly? If you installed it backwrds you will have all sorts of problems.
