Constant problem with car
This is my girlfriend's, Christy, car. It is 2006 Cobalt LT sedan. Christy lives in Southwest Virginia.
Christy's car has been receiving service engine light constantly now. She went to the dealership to have this fixed. First it's the EVAP leaking, the line was replaced. Second, it was something to do with the sensor, it was replaced. Third, it was something else, I cannot remember. Fourth, the fuel gauge sensor was bad and it was replaced because the pump wouldn't go full tank (just up to 3/4 of tank) plus the gas cap was bad -- replaced under warranty.
After the service was done, the light was gone, but now after few days, it's back again. We're getting pissed off. Christy will be now spending over a grand for repairs within a year. She does not have warranty, the warranty expired not long ago. After the warranty expired, the problems started appearing.
I live in West Chester, PA and I took her car to the Ford dealership where I work as detailer. The mechanic, friend of mine, checked the car and showed me the tablet, it says EVAP .. Venting. It has something to do in the back, perhaps the solenoid or canister. But Chevrolet didn't fix anything at all because the light keeps coming back.
I feel like requesting Chevrolet representative to go to the dealership and have a look at the car and decide from there. Christy has 2 months left to pay off her car and it is not worth the investment. The car is now at approximately 89,000 miles.
What do we do? This is getting frustrating and not worth the money spent into repairs.
