Coolant temp guage not reading

I have a LDK crate motor , z54 turbo , fully bolted . Tuned by zzp . Car runs great besides the fact that it’s throwing the coolant temp sensor intermideit signal . It try’s to read from 60- 70 F then shows three dashes . I’ve changed the sensor even though it was already brand new with the crate motor . It didn’t change it . I’m thinking maybe thermostat but why would that have any cause or change in readings

It's not your thermostat. It sounds like you have either a bad connection or wiring problems to your sensor. If it is working at all it should read and display a temperature. What is the exact code you are throwing?

Sorry for the late response but I did figure out the issue I literally had the speedometer n coolant sensor mixed matched . Smh funny but easy fix too bad I changed the coolant sensor for no reason and got coolant all over my face haha . But car is running smooth and I’ve got 100 miles on the new LDK block
