dash vent rattle/ flash drive error

since ive had the car the dash has rattled like crazy. seems to be the vent panel for the windshield. how hard is that piece to remove? is it removable without taking the whole dash out?
ive taken it in several times for the same rattle and the dealer always says they cant recreate it.nightmare quality service everytime i go there.

another thing is i used to use my iphone 4 through the usb port and play my music. well it was causing lots of static. so i recently bought a usb flash drive and it plays much clearer. 80% of the songs play on it. but some say " ID3 tag request error" and wont play. they are all mp3 files. what can i do to fix this?

thanks for any suggestions

ya the dash is really easy to remove. unlike most cars, the cobalt uses a "cover"

-I am at work for the next 10ish hours so i cant post the pics i have... but i will try to remember everything....

-Disconect battery
-remove both A pillar covers
-https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...d-panels-7236/ *note you dont need to take off all the stuff shown here
-if you look where the windsheild meets the dash, you will notice their is a narrow (6ish") piece, this will pop off like the dash trim
-on eash side of the dash (open the doors as far as they go and look into the car ) is a pannel that will "pop" off

Not sure here, but
- if i remember correctly you have to remove the passenger side airbag (hence why you disconnected the battery) and make sure its been disconnected for at least 20 minutes

To remove the airbag
-take off the glove box
look up and under the dash, and you should see (2) bolts holding on a plate that is connected to the airbag
-now that passenger side, side pannel that you pulled off look for the airbag wire, their is a connection that you can unplug here
- now the airbag should come out the top along with the cover, watch that wire so it doesnt get caught anywhere when removing the airbag

-Finally ( i believe i got everything) you remove the variouse screws that hold the dash cover on
-ie- they are located under where you pulled the trim off the front, as well as along the backside (or frontside of the car) where you pulled that pannel off by the windshield

note:it is a tight fit and takes some perswasion to come out

here is mine when it was out
