Dealer installed alarm problem...
When I got my base 07 Cobalt LS, I paid extra for the dealer to install door look actuators and a keyless entry that has an alarm. Since it's getting hot outside, normally after I get done driving, my fan stays on for a few minutes. Now if I lock the car with the keyless entry right when I get out with the fan still running, the moment the fan turns off 8 minutes later, it sets off the alarm also... I'm really skilled with electrical repair, but I don't know where to start... Any suggestions?
While I'm thinking about it, is there anyway I could extend the range of this cheapie keyless entry? I'll probably end up getting a Python alarm soon anyways so it doesn't matter.
Also... I believe this is the system that was installed: http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/s...ductId=&brand=

Yea... that idea is next in line :p
I don't really care anymore. I just lock my doors before exiting and I don't arm it.

Ill tell you exactly what it is.Back when i installed alarms, the alarms had a voltage sense option.Any drop of voltage in the car will trigger the alarm.Usually they set it to voltage sense so they dont have to hook it up to the doors or the trunk.Cause when you open the door or the trunk, the voltage sense will pick it up and trigger the alarm. You had some lazy ass who installed your alarm. To try it out,sit in the car arm it,and turn on the park lights or beep the horn.If the alarm goes off, theres your problem. You better get that fixed cause once it starts getting cold out and the batteries voltage starts to fluctuate, its gonna trigger the alarm.

I'll try what you said tomorrow...thanks for the help. Also...if I were to go with a remote start alarm, will I need any other types of modules?
Alright so tonight I got in my car, armed it, and played with the headlights and hazards... As soon as I turned them on with the alarm armed, it went off.
So I think the next thing I'll get is a new alarm system. Being an employee at Circuit City, I'll go with the Python 990 (with a nice discount
). I'll get it installed by our installers there. So since my Cobalt is an LS with added lock actuators, the only type of bypass I'll need is this?
