dealership drives me nuts
So I took my SS turbo in yesterday because I was annoyed by some of the front end rattles I was getting over un even roads, its determined that I need a sway bar linkage and so that is covered under warranty. In the process of taking off my wheels they break my lug nut socket (the 6 spline style), can't get my wheels back on and make me go searching around town to buy one before they can put my wheels back on. Then I finally get my bill, (remember this is supposed to be warranty work), and they charge me labour to make an adjustment to my exhaust because they say that it was also rattling off of my evap canister. I have an aftermarket exhaust, full MPX set-up. But it seemed to bolt right on and I have never heard of anyone else having issues of it rattling off the evap canister, I dont know if this is even possible as I figured there was enough space there. I'm also pretty unhappy that they would bill me before advising me that they were doing this.

Ya legally they cannot do that without calling you for authorization first, talk to their service manager if he does not drop it, take it to a lawyer, they love to sue dealers.

Sue a dealership over probably 50 bucks in labor... Hahaha. Jesus Christ. He probably wouldn't even win since he said fix the rattles. And they fixed the rattle. They aren't going to call him up and be like. We found something that rattles. Do u want us to fix it. Cus his answer would be "obviously. That's y I ******* brought my vehicle in to get fixed"

A warranty is to fix a manufactures defect, your aftermarket stuff broke/caused the noise. If you were a regular customer and didnt just come in for warranty repairs, Me, personally, would have just tweeked the exhaust and sent you on your way. Its tech/dealer discresion. Also, when you signed the Repair order, it gives the dealership certain authorization. You might want to read the small print next time.

You guys have it made then lol. Or at least not as bad as here.
I agree with the above. Regulars that come in for maintenance and other repairs that regularly spend money, I have no problem helping them out. People who have a history of nothing but warranty work and our 19.99 oil change special, I couldn't care less about.
