Diagnostic Codes Will Not Clear...What is the Problem?

My 2006 SS/SC had the airbag light on so I went to go run it on a diagnostic computer at a shop. They used a nice Snap-on Diagnostic Computer and it had some past issues codes. When he went to try and clear the codes, they would not erase. It said, "cannot erase Codes!!!". My SS is salvaged, but is back put back together and runs perfectly. Any idea why the codes wouldn't clear?

They wont clear because it was in an accident and it has set codes for that. You need a new SDM(airbag computer)

That was supposed to be replaced already. It did give a code that said Left side impact and that was the only airbag to have gone off. Is there a way to test the sdm?
