Is there any way I can use regular Cobalt door handles so I don't have to use the corny fake chrome?

gotta be able to, only if its the handle designed to go on that door. I used my driver side back door handle temporarily and the fitment was off, almost broke that one.

I need some help. I'll be trying to attached hopefully the cable tomorrow. My door swung full force open and interior handle will no longer open door. Outside handle and lock work a ok, just Interior handle does Nota. Can u email me so maybe u can talk me through what u just explained? Amber

Thread has been dead for 6 years, you're responding to a post that's 10 years old.

Anyways...
1) Remove interior door handle panel, remove screw
2) Remove interior arm rest panel, remove 2 screws
3) Remove plastic panel, trim removal tool works best; they are plastic clips
4) Unhook electrical harness from tweeter (if available) and door controls (needed to get plastic panel off completely)
5) Trace the long black cable to the door handle. You'll need to seat that cable into the hole, and wrap the plastic part around to the bottom to lock it in. Will take a few attempts to complete.
5a) Test door handle.
6) Put everything back together.

It sounds difficult, but once you get in there, it's very straight forward.
