Door paint chipping, at top, 2009 coupe
Left and right side doors paint chipping at the top of the edge of the door, at the back. It is hitting the body and chipping the body as well. I have a 2009 LS Coupe with ss suspension all around, and an OTT Hardcore rear bar, front strut brace. My door weather strips looks great. I can slam the door and it does not hit. The dealer thinks it might be flexing while I am driving. They are looking at it today.
Does anyone know what this could be?????
Thanks
Dimitri

Here's a sticky link on the bottoms of the doors; there was one other person on here that had the problem of the door banging off the upper frame of the door as well but I can't remember where it is:

Hi, did you ever get it fixed properly to correct the paint chipping issue? My 2010 Cobalt Coupe is doing the same, at the top of both doors. It seems to be worse on the drivers side then passengers. My dealership also says they have never seen the issue and don't know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks Jamie

That is the issue. Mine is only on the drivers side. When I compared my the driver side to passenger side, the drivers side seal doesn't stick out at the upper corner of the door jam when closed and when the door closes it slides under the body causing the door to hit against it. I showed a dealer on a new car they had on their lot, it was chipping the paint in the exact same spots as it was on mine

I put a nice glob of wax on the areas where the paint was chipping and closed the doors about 20 times and no wax hit the door frame. So I drove down the road and went over a few speed bumps and wax transferred. Would the uni-body flex that much when driving? I guess maybe the door isn't alined with the body properly have to bring it back in.
