Driver Door Wont Open

Hi,
Last night, i noticed that if i pulled too far in the interior handle of my car, the door wouldnt close when i tried to shut it again. I was able to solve this by pushing down on the lock and pulling it back up again, which made a loud click. After doing this another time, i shut the door and now it wont open. both the interior and exterior handles feel like as though they have disengaged from whatever cable they were connected to. Is there anyway to fix this? i don't want to take it to a shop As i want to do it myself.

had the same issue and this is not fun..when your gf have to get out through the window in the rain.. hhaha
cause: likely your door latch is sticking open

once you get it to open, does the door closes on its own?? if not see below.

when you stand right outside of the door, hit the door panel with your palm just under the handle. when you do finally get the door to open, (be carefull not to damage the panel)
i would suggest going to canadian tire and buying some degreaser and new grease. to clean and re grease the door latch.
this was my 8$ fix and worked ever since. once in a blue while happens again and i just throw more grease in the latch

done

It's about a bitch, i've had such a problem with this, and it's never been the same fix (in my case). if the above doesn't work, take the door panel off and check the line that feeds into your door latch, mine would disengage from the handle EVERY time i tried opening my door, resulting in a useless inside door.

Do you know how to get the door panel off with the door closed?

Once you get it to open just inspect the latch, use your outside door handle and inside and make sure that the latch opens and closes upon request.

most likely just ran out of the grease so clean it up and regrease it.

Yep, put some WD40 on it and then got some Lithium grease. hopefuly I don't have the problem again, but if I do, guess I'll just have to hit the door

I realize this is a couple months late and you probably have it fixed by now, but may help someone else.... I still havent "fixed" the problem but i can tell you that i tap the top of the lock downward (a little agressive) and it works fine when i pull it up to unlock. Mine gives me the impression that it isnt catching the "bar" to unlock it. I tried the hitting on the door panel.... yeah doesnt work for me. It will lock me out without warning and i have been caught in the rain when it decides to throw a fit. A good whack on its head and what do ya know... it found some get right.

Little to no boost

Ok guys, i have a problem with my boost. One day it seemed sluggish and i noticed that my boost was not getting above 0. I checked the hoses and they were in bad need of being replaced. Took care of that and it seemed a little better over the last couple days but its still only reaching 5-7 on the gauge and still not performing at the level it should. I can usually fix the problem myself IF i figure out what it is. No check engine light and no codes. It is a stock 05 cobalt SS SC. Any ideas the logical place to start? Laymans terms please.... after all.... i am just a girl.

1st place i would look is the intake and the MAF sensor. you can get a maf cleaner (make sure it says MAF on it) take it out and clean it. these cleaners are like 5$ up here in canada...
regarding intake, gotta make sure all connections are tight and there are no leaks.
low boost is usually a leak issue somewhere in intake assy
