I bought my Maf from autozone it was around $80.
Just called crate engine depot & bought one for 60$

Did your car seem normal after you replaced it? Were your problems fixed?

It is normal after I replaced it, but it still sent a code when it rained. I am waiting for my hydroshield to see if that fixes it when it rains.

My scan gauge brought up a bunch of codes regarding my MAF sensor. I'm going to try to clean it first & if the problem still occurs then I will be buying a new MAF sensor.

Does anyone know roughly how much a new MAF sensor costs?
I would think its just your dry filter getting damp or wet and restricting the air flow even with the hydrosheild.

it has for me and many others....
id bet there is another problem...like they are using an oiled filter and it is getting all over the sensor or what not....
but either way, both of those problems are not due to it being an "ebay intake" over other brands
Pulling the connection isn't going to get rid of it, you're going to keep throwing the CEL until you clear it in HPT..

Did you read what TTR posted on the first page? Yes, a disruption in flow will mess with the readings.

A disruption in flow will yes, but unsmooth bends will not disrupt the airflow, and personally I think he is talking out of his ass because I dont see any unsmooth bends in my intake. BTW the maf is way before any of those 'bends' anyway.

i have and injen intake with the filter and no hydroshield and ive ran through some shitty rain.. i have not once had any issues with cels or bogging or anything... the filter has alot to do with it. the ebay intake we put on my buddies car comes with one of the most shittiest autozone filters ever. He had a cel right away after driving... we took off his filter, reset his computer, and then put my filter on it... ran fine... get a better filter, and then get the hydroshield for safety

Unsmooth joints and strange bends before the MAF will not allow the air to flow over it as designed. If yours is fine and smooth, then good for you. There are several people here who have had problems with them, welds and such.

I think it really just depends on the car. Every one will be different.

Some need a hydroshield, some can't drive at all in the rain. Especially with the AEM filter.
