I'll bet theres not a single person on this board that hasn't hit at least 120mph. Like I said, just because your older doesn't mean you can do it and he can't. And don't even act like you have never driven that fast before. IMO, if you don't have anything HELPFUL or nice to say then why the hell post in the "problems and service" forums just to bitch at him....

As for your problem; I have no idea what it could be bro, I've had my car that fast a few times (kiss my ass) and it's never cut off... Keep asking around I guess. Hope everything works out for you...
You are wrong my friend, ive never taken my car to 120mph. thats stupid....my governer kicks in a 105

As for the poster, im just busting your *****. if i was 17 again (those were the days, check out 16 y/o's with being looked at as weird...) i would love the car and do stupid **** like go 120mph.

Chances are if it is not consistantly happening, you bumped the key.
Its easy to do, meaning the car shuts off very easily.

No doubt when you are going 120+ your addrenaline was probably going a little bit, and you were (hopefully) paying very close attention to the road in front of you and might not have noticed bumping the key.

I have never heard of anyone else having the problem though.
And like was mentioned earlier, if it has only happened once, I wouldnt worry too much about it.

If it has happened a bunch, take it to the dealer and embelish on the speed you were actually going when it cut off.

Might be a number of things, engine problem, PCM/BCM problem, ignition problem like bumping the key, who knows. Good luck getting GM to fix it though, LMAO.

I have an ss/sc and ive very rarely had my car above 100mph.

Im curious why people think going fast is the reason someone buys the ss/sc

I bought it to ACCELERATE fast. not go fast....
any monkey can mat the pedal and go fast in just about any car.

I would think if theres absolutely no codes then you must have bumped the keys.
something as serious as shutting down at that speed would definately leave some sort of code if it was engine related.

first if you don't know how fast your car will go then why buy one that can do it..... And i'm not 17 or even close to that.. You have to see what your limits are.. Second i had this problem also and only happened once but think i may have bumped the key myself too.. use less keys on the key chain..

You guys need to stop bashing the kid. Ok yes 120 is stupid but don't say any of you woulnd't do that either. Alleycat, I just can't believe that you haven't taken your car above 65 on public roads....stop bashing the kid.

I'll admit, I have taken my car above 100 before on public roads but I mainly bought it for acceleration. Getting on the highway from an entrance ramp from a stop can be horrible with a slow car....trust me, if you live in nj and commute, you would know

Check your battery connections. I had the same problem because my subs loosened the connection and the car died on me also. I reconneted the terminals and tightened them down. Haven't had a problem since.
