Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

a few issues after header/dp install.. questions..

Hey guys,

So, here's the deal. I got a used ZZP downpipe and header combo from a local member a few weeks ago and installed it a few days back. Initially it was a straight pipe. It sounded horrible. It threw the expected CEL and ran kinda off in terms of idle, backfire, etc. But no real issues other than sounding horrible. So yesterday I had a cat welded in. It helped it to sound MUCH better. But after installing it, the t/c light came on and now the car shifts very hard. It feels exactly how it did when I had my Shift Plus installed. The car shakes when you put it into reverse or drive in a BANG type way. It shifts very fast when accelerating, but I hate the initial boom that happens.

What would've caused this? Would a battery pull for 10 minutes reset this? The CEL is still on also. I went over to get it cleared, but it stayed on. Will doing HPT correct either of these if simple resets don't? I'm getting one done within a few weeks. So, we've got a CEL, and a t/c light with shifting problem.

Also, I have a narrowband AFR that I installed and wired. I hooked it to the one wire suggested. Before doing this install, when I turned the car on, the bar would fluctuate for a second, then cut off for a second, then start working again continuously. Now, it turns on when the car does, go for a second, then stop and never restart. No bar at all. Is this because of the CEL throwing something in the ECU or something? I have no clue.

My MPG went down big time without the cat, but now it's back to normal. The car is running great aside from these couple issues that I'd like resolved asap. Anyone have any clue? Anything will help..
