fuel pump issues HELP!!

so on friday i had my fuel pump replaced under the new recall. when i dropped the car off it had 3/4 tank of gas. so today i filled up with ga and looked under the car and gas was pouring out from somewhere under the metal gas tank cover. i lost about a gallon of gas in under 45 minutes. possible sugestions? im taking it back to the dealer tomorrow morning. i just want to know if its something i could fix in my garage to avoid the dealer haing my car for 8 hours tomorrow.

i thought there might be some kind of plug on top of the tank they forgot to out back in. its not pouring out at the moment which is y i think it has something to do with the filler neck or a plug on top of th tank.

Quite possibly a broken fill neck or the seal on the top of the tank isn't seated quite right.

You'll find out when you take it back.

Update: took the car to the dealer today and he said the top of the gas tank is cracked from them replacing the fuel pump. He said he sees it a lot. So I'm getting a new fuel Pump and and a fuel tank for free.

I jus
t had my fuel pump replaced for leaking under warranty. The fuel pump the replaced it with was faulty causeing my car to not start ont he first try. sometime it would take 2 or 3 time to crank the car up. Also when i would be turning right like when your on a high way entrace ramp, the car would hesitate and feel like its goign to die out. They replaced it again, and i guess I'll see in a few days if it stays fixed. The first time it took a few days

That's kind of surprising. I've broken a fuel tank doing this recall before and it snapped where the fill neck connects.

They had to have been REALLY hammering on that lock ring to crack the tank up top.

Whoever you talked to is full of crap.

The recall only directs the dealership to replace the pump. Nothing else.

Trust me I've been doing this recall since it came out.

I had a fuel pump leak back about 8 months ago but fixed it myself. Damn I wish I knew about this ahead of time.
