Ok i have a 08 LS 2.2 5spd, and my car has done a funky idle thing twice so far. First time i had started it up in the morning to go to work. I put in reverse gave it a lil gas and clutch like normal. rpm maybe 1300-1500 and when i turn around in my drive and let off the gas to go to first the engine suddenly drops to about 400-500 rpm and almost quits and goes back up to about 1000 and it did it for about 10 seconds then it went back up to norm. I thought it might be bad gas(stupid ethanol 10% mix) and cold morning. But the second time it did it i had just stopped at a red light, was just sitting there and was about to push the gas when it started doing it again! Throttled it and it kinda smoothed out but it was tryign to do in when i took of. lasted maybe 10-15 sec then ran fine. No C.E.L. or any engine power decrease message on info screen .Im taking it to the shop in the morning to see what might be up with it. Its only got 1500 miles so warranty should cover it. Also when it did it the first time everything in the info screen reset. And what i mean is both trips, avg mpg, avg speed, oil life and all that. Any ideas what the problem is? Like to know if this has happened to anyone else before. btw i live in tennessee gas quality sucks here. Help please in case chevy cant diagnose?

 

Check your throttle body for dirt!

 

Ok will do in the morning, but what about that would cause the reset of all the stuff in the info screen? I work at a dealership (Toyota sadly), but ive never seen anything like this. Im still virgin to GM

 

I missed that part well I would check into faulty electrical or something as if its maybe surging. I would take it to dealership and go from there shes under warranty.

 

He said it had 1500miles...

...and if there was dirt in the TB, it'd be a constant problem.


Sounds to me like you have an electrical gremlin. Good luck! I'm not sure what to tell you on that one!

 

Actually mine wasnt consistent when it was dirty and yeah I took it back and said electrical so yeah lol and your sig is well nice

 

Ill be sure to check the tb before i take it up there. I dont think it would be dirty with only 1500 miles but wth, might as well check. Seen some crazy **** like it at work on new cars. But anywayz I have never owned a car with any kind of warranty on it so you think no matter what it is itl be covered? Hope they dont pull some electrical bullshit about the LED's and silverstars i put on or the assumption im a 'punk' car killer teen just bc im 18 nearing 19. Gotta love old ***** who are cheap ********.
