Unhappy the G5 broke down

well today im on my way to work and im driveing and i have to stop at a stop sign. so i put in the clutch put it in N and i used the break to stop. so i put the clutch in goes into 1st no proplem and then i let it out rev up to about 3G and go to put the clutch in and i hear a loud snap and the pedal droped to the floor and wouldint come back up. so i got the car off the road and called my dad and hes like call pontaics roadside assistance and so im looked for the number find it i call them the take down some info and where im at and tell me where my car will be going and its at the pontaic dealer right next to my work so thats good. and so my dad waited for my car to get picked up and i went to work. he thinks the cable broke or something. there was no smells no clutch proplems no nothing it just happed. the car had no lights on it was running fine. i watched them drop it off the flatbed and im like i want my car back lol i hate driveing the sunfire.

It's either the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. No cables in the clutch linkage in these cars - it's a hydraulic system.

haha ^^ your right. i got the car back today this is what the dealer typed up

Found clutch master cylinder disconnected from bulkhead clutch depresses with no clutch movement. clutch master cylinder slideing through bulkhead. removed underhood fuse block and housing removed clutch master cylinder. inspected clutch master cylinder reataining tabs. tabs ok. reinstalled clutch master cylinder

they tested my car i think on the road because when it was droped off the mpg where at 23.9 when i got it they where at 17.4 someone drove it and drove it hard.
