for some reason some times when im at a complete stop and i push the clutch in and try to put it in 1st gear it wont go until i hit 2nd 3rd 4th and then it will pop into first i had this same problem with my mustang and i was told its cause of the syncos being all messed up in the tranny does anyone else have this problem

It happened to me after I got a new clutch in because the shift cables had to be undone and then put back for the install. After the second clutch install (clutch was defective) I haven't had that problem. Maybe you just have to screw around with the shifter cables a little?

try 2nd then 1st, that works like 99.9% of the time for me.

 

1st gear has no synchro...just fluke that your not going into the gate on your first try...unless uve ground your gears extensively... that would make it harder...

 

Mine's an '08 and it's probably happened about...15 times in the month that I've had it, and I sometimes have to try 3 times to get it in 1st when I'm at a light.

 

yup, shift it in 2nd, then in 1st. works every time...
