GM techs respond on Warranty Issue ;)
Well i took my car in today, with a mysterious clicking at WOT. Now it started doing this before it was modified but was intermitent but now its helacious.
So they start to look at it and cant figure it out... i know this b/c he started off with saying i have voided my warranty and they cannot cover it. They wanted me to pay them to figure it out. So i asked them HOW my springs and smaller pulley voided it. He then was at a loss, now from what i know they have to PROVE that what i have done has created the problem.
He then goes into they did see some rubbing but the mount looked fine and so did some other things they checked(so basically they dont know).
Now i have to bring it in when the foreman is there so he can ride with me and hear the sound.
They also mentioned some scartching on the controle arms, i dont think the springs would do this...?
So am i Right? dont they have to prove that my modifications are a result of the problem? He was really blaming the suspension supposivley lowering the engine LOL?

I work at a Ford Dealership as a tech, and as Ford doesnt send out an adjuster to look at the damage we usually do the work. We have fixed Cobra's, one with over 500 hp and Marauder's.

He probably meant that when you lowered your car, you changed the angle of your axles because the engine is now lower in comparison to the axles. If you have them take it in to figure out what is wrong and it is because your springs, no warrenty won't cover it. I'm not sure about them having to PROVE anything...

it is if i have the dealership i took it to before call them isnt it ?
but if the sound was an axle issue why would it only happen at WOT and not at 90 miles an hour?

why don't you just go back to that dealership? If you already had one dealership look at it before your springs for this same problem, it should be listed under your VIN. They can look up your history of issues you've brought it in for.
To the second part: I have no idea

Doc that would be awesome but i already have the rear tranny mount on the way from tag, and im going to buyt the front as well.
So if either of those are the issue it should solve it.

well they called me back and told me that they didnt even get it on the lift before b/c it was lowered and wouldnt fit. But when they did the oilchange (underground thing) the tech saw that the torque converter was hitting the sway bar under WOT, is this possible?
He said they bent it a little witha pry bar and it should fix it.

I think the dealer has to prove it caused the problem... not the customers responsibility to prove anything.
Im suprised that they couldnt get the car on a lift with the sportlines. Didnt think they would cause that much of a problem, you have any other issues withe the car being to low.

problem is i have the GM exhaust and when they installed it they pointed the flange down, so that thing scrapes on EVERYTHING. I must avoid all speedbumps etc.

What he said...
And if the torque converter were hitting the sway bar(which I garuntee you don't even HAVE a torque converter). That would mean your bellhousing more or less disintegrated and you would have suffered a loss of transmission fluid and a dead tranny.

uhhhh yah wtf since when did SS/SC's get an automatic? lol ask him when exactly did they start putting torque converters on automatics and what they do. I would get that in writing and be sending something to GM about the fact that you cant even trust their techs to work on your car because they dont even know what basic components are in your vehicle let alone how to work on them. Im no five star mechanic myself but cmon a torque converter on an SS/SC, there is no excuse for that to be coming out of any GM techs mouth!!!!

Hellz yea took it for a test drive and damn its fast lol
Thanks all for your help, guess it wasnt my doing anyways.
