GMPP Performance cat-back
To start, I'm not sure if this is a problem or not.
On Tuesday this week I had a GMPP performance exhaust installed on my 05 SS/SC at my local GM Performance dealership. Everything looks and sounds right. Yesterday (Thursday) after returning from my lunch break I noticed that the exhaust tip appeared to be protruding 1 inch beyond where it had been installed. I tried to push or pull it to see if it was loose, but it felt solid. So I made a note to find a socket set at the office and take it with me after work to tighten things up. When I got to the car the tip had returned to it's installed position. Clearly there is some expansion and contraction going on here!
1. As this is my first ever aftermarket exhaust product, is this normal?
2. Would anyone with this exhaust installed be willing to see if their exhaust tip extends after a heat cycle and then returns to normal after cooling down?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Also if anyone local to the Montreal area is interested in a GM exhaust or performance parts in general, I can put you in touch with the shop that did my work. I am very impressed with their handling of the installation of GM performance parts. FAST and CHEAP!
