Have a problem, need some input

I hate to ask this, since it's really stupid, but I do not know how to approach it. So, I come home at night, around 5:00 PM or so. Now, I get up for school/work at 8:00 AM. Now, here's what I don't get. I go out to start my car at said time, get in, press in the clutch, turn the key, give it a small amount of gas, the car starts to sputter then dies. The first time it happened, I thought I didn't give it enough. Now, on the fourth day, I still can't figure out what the hell is going on. To get it going, I have go really give it some gas, where as before it took very little, if any. Now, the weather has been kind of cold, about 38F when I get out to start the car. I never had this problem, even in the winter when it was like, 10.

Sorry, this really is stupid. I'm just so paranoied about this car, which I hate. I just can't let it go, lol. Oh, and it's an SS/SC; figured I should state that.

Gotta ask: why do you give it gas when starting up?

Yea, why give it gas? It's fuel injected. You're probably flooding it...if that's possible I'm not sure?

Yeah... don't give it any gas when starting it up... you are probably flooding it before it really gets running. This isn't your dad's 1970 Chevelle with a carburated engine... no need to pump the gas. It'll idle just fine on its own.

That's the thing, it dies if I don't. It starts, hesitates, and if I don't give it gas, it dies. I think I said that a little weird, my bad. I posted the times because if it's only a few minutes to a two or three hours, it starts up fine, no gas needed to start. I should have said that.

Hell yes I do, lol. Only reason I posted this question. I figured Stage II would fix it, but I've ran into some finance troubles, and had to put that off for another month or so.

Yea, there is a fuel issue, possible your fuel pump is intermitent. I'd take it in the next time it happens. Something is wrong.

I'm not going to tell you anything different, but do not ever pump the gas on a fuel injected car. That is for carburators only. Take your car in for warranty work.

I know that much. I just didn't want the car to die. The reason I asked was so I didn't look like a tard when I took it in. I started it this morning with no problem, and that's what was bothering me. I knew if I took it in saying that there was a problem sometimes, they would want to recreate the problem, and probably with no luck.

It might be your temp sensor. Some vehicles, not sure about this one, uses one of the temp sensors to tell how cold it is outside to regulate how much fuel it will take to start and run smoothly. Kinda like the chokes on the older cars.

If your temp sensor might be goin bad thinking it's colder than it really is making your car flood out by giving it too much fuel.

I'd actually check your fuel filter. If the fuel lines and pump are fine, a dirty fuel filter will cause inconsistent fuel flow at starting/lower demand. Pull it out and take a look, should only take you 10 minutes or so.

I would guess fuel pump, I had mine die on me at about 8k miles. Similar symptoms (I think, from the description). Most of the time mine would start fine then sputter a little bit. Main thing it did just before it went was the car would stall when coming to a stop. Car in N or clutch all the way in, it'd die when it shouldn't. That same day the car was on a flatbed.
