Help !! Acceleration issue

I have a 07 Chevy cobalt LS with the 2.2 L manual transmission. When I accelerate full throttle the rpm's go up then bog and then slowly catch back up. What can cause this issue?!

Does the engine bog while in any gear or after a shift?

When the RPMs go up the first time is the vehical accelerating with it? Or do the RPM get ahead of vehical speed, then bog down as the car accelerates to match up with RPMs?

It doesn't do it in gear but after a shift it does. When I jump on the throttle the rpm's get ahead of the car then it bogs and try's to catch back up. Usually happens when I go from partial throttle to full throttle

might try cleaning your throttle body.

If the rpms go up then bog and start moving up slowly again, it sounds like it could be the clutch slipping, then grabbing and causing the rpms to bog again. You said it doesn't do it when in gear but after a shift it does. Are you making sure you have the clutch fully released before hitting the gas again?

Just making sure. A good way to test if the clutch is slipping is cruise at a low speed in 5th and floor it and if the rpms spike then it is a clutch issue
