Help with alternator swap please!

Actually getting to and taking out the alternator is easy. But the black wire that comes off the back of it, that says fusible link, does it plug into something else. there is no fuse on it or anywhere near it or any wires it could plug into. it's just dangling there, which is leading me to believe my alternator wasn't bad and this **** just got disconnected somehow. What's weird is it seems to be crimped at the end and the copper wires on the end are smooth like they are cut and aren't supposed to go anywhere. If it plugs into something please tell me how and where. I don't see any other loose wires or anything.

I understand how to ground something, I want to know where and what specifically this wire was originally grounded to.

If you don't know then that's fine.

The alt grounds out on the engine. I cannot say exactly where as it's been 5 years since we rebuilt the engine. That and it's pouring **** outside right now.

The wire that says fusible link is not a ground. Its a power wire. One end goes to the stud on the alternator the other goes to the stud on the starter.
