Help GUYS PLEASE NOW!!!
Hey guys.. I was in my car today.. I know a shocker and i noticed my thermostat only reads 79* when its really like 90-95... What can i do to change this.. or what can i do in general.. I have a Injen CAI and my coolant temp last night while i was driving was at 214 and i wasnt driving my car hard at all at that point.. what could be wrong with this stuff.. i know the theromostat is probably stuck or something.. but please help!
Thanks
Thanks
I was talking about the outside tempature thermostat. Sometimes they go glitchy, the codes usually clear up in the next start or two.
If your radiator temparture gauge reads only 70 degrees, that's kindof a problem. Take it in to your dealer and have them scan it

1) temps over 200 are not bad, anything below about 230 is considered "normal range". if you're not moving fast, it's hot out, or your in traffic or even a light, it's normal for your temp to raise. there is a dummy light that will tell you when it's too hot, so if it's not on no need to panic
2) try unplugging and re-plugging the sensor. it may be wet, dirty, or anything mentioned above. if you take off your front driverside headlight, (it's only 2 bolts, i think they're 8 or 10 mill don't remember) you will see the headlight mounting bracket. if you take off that bracket (2 bolts on the top, 2 on the bottom, you can't miss them.) you will see the plug for the temp. it's to the bottom left hand side when looking at the bracket in the car.
going over 220 is normal on these cars with the way the fans are set to run. no worries about that 214 temp.
My OAT gauge locks up at least once a week. Not that I really care about it, but it happens and is annoying.
