ok so my car sounds like it is misfiring, runs rough. the after cooler pump went out and i can't keep fluid in the reservoir. no cel's come on but there is definately a problem. started yesterday. at first i just noticed the pump was not pumping when i refilled the reservoir. next i drove to napa and pepboys to see if i could by a new one......no-go. so by the time i get home the car is misfiring. here's where it gets wierd. the oil catch can has frothy oil in it, but i checked the engine oil and it is clean. and i also checked the plugs, they looked normal. i will get the car scanned in hpt tonight when i get home. can someone send me a config file for a 2005 ss/sc. and any ideas as to my problem would be much appreciated.

don't know yet, haven't been able to access vcm scanner yet, i can't get my application key till tomorrow from them. basicly i'm dead in the water for tonight.

go to hptuners.com and log in using the code on the box....
if that doesn't work, I dunno, there should be an email.

 

yeah i allready tried all that, so i e-mailed them, seems i'm not the only one to run into this problem.
it's all good though cause i'm so frustrated right now that it's better i don't start messing with the car right now. i would probably pull the whole motor apart till i found the problem. did that with my bmw once. but i don't have the resources i had then.

ok, I might call you when I get off work...I have to see when the next test is going to happen. They changed one to tomorrow so I am reviewing now. We have 5 more tests before the 20th. They are trying to cram them in before the 20th too

 

Sure sounds like the intake gasket is gone,
your dipstick poping out at all.
If not the after cooler could have sprung a leak inside the intake.

 

Do you have any mods to the car? Your sig says you don't, but you mentioned in the other thread that you did have some mods.

It does sound like you are getting coolant into the intake, and it must be a pretty big leak if it is enough to cause a misfire. It could be possible that the car is just pulling alot of timing as well. If the intercooler pump is not working then the IAT2 must be getting pretty hot, and I wouldn't recommend driving around too much like that. It is pretty odd that the intercooler pump went out at the same time you would get a leak in the intercooler which is why I ask what has been done to the car. Was anything done at or around the time the intercooler stopped working and the car started acting wierd?

 

yah it's not getting driven at all. but i have a ton of mods, nothing really new though that would cause this. will figure it all out by the weekend though. right now i can't even scan it with hpt.

no the dipstick is still fine.

ouch 5, damn sounds like my bncoc was we did about 3-5 test per day. well right now i can't seem to get the scanner to read the car. i found the fuse you were talking about, but no luck

me two me and my wife sat out there for 2 hours trying to get it to read till the battery died . i did some research last night, i might need to change the usb drivers cause i have windows vista(it blows ) we'll see what happens tonight when i get home.

 

well i found the problem doc. when i bolted the sc back on i pinched the damn harness for the injectors. i'm gonna re solder that and try again.

i went out there this morning and the cylinders were dry. tried to start it up and the #4 filled up with fuel and the rest were normal, so i checked the harness. problem found, and thats the battery drain as well.

 

I ran into the same issue (not getting my HPT key) a couple years back when I first got mine. Turns out my email in PayPal was incorrect (set to the wifey's) and it eventually rattd me out that I had spent $800 on a new "toy" LOL
