High Idle Dilema
Hey all,
So my 06 2.4SS coupe is at the dealership right now.
I turned the car on one morning and the idle jumped to 2500rpm with a check engine light. Drove for a while, problem didn't go away. The car is acting like I am constantly holding the gas pedal down a bit. Weird stuff.
Took to the dealer a few days ago, scanned it, TPS (throttle position sensor) was the code it was pulling. Dealer replaced the throttle body with a new one. Said they road tested it and that it was fixed. Great! So I come to pick the car up and the service guy drives it to the front for me. It was idling at 1500rpm. I figured maybe it was just warming up. Went for a drive around the area of the dealership (in case something went wrong). It did go wrong. Problem came back in full force just like before except now the idle is at around 2000rpm.
Drove it back to the dealer said "It's still having the same issue". They took it in and requested that the next morning I bring them the stock air intake setup. They thought it may have something to do with my aftermarket Injen cold air intake. I did what they asked this morning. The mechanic installed the stock setup on the spot at 8am and we went for a drive together. Problem did not change at all.
Now its at the dealer. They gave me a G6 rental and sent me on my way. Said they'd get back to me with info soon.
Any thoughts?

Did they replace the whole throttle body ,I wouldnt think so,they would of Just did the sensor
The problem is the throttle body would be my guess.
The butterfly in the throttle body it being held open a little and not closing all the way obecause it is damaged or being held open slightly by a peice of crap.
Also could be closing to far from being wore.
