My roommate has a 04 Ion with the 2.2 and is having a little problem with his car not cranking all the time..

The problem is that randomly when he goes out to start his car it wont turn over at all. We know its not the alternator and the starter because both have been replaced recently.. I was pretty sure that it was his battery but when he went to AutoZone to get it tested they told him that it was working fine and was holding a good charge.

Is there anything else that it could be? Cause the guy at AutoZone also said that Ions have ignition problems pretty often as well..

 

Noone have anything for me?

It could be the crank position sensor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

If it doesn't crank at all some of the times, it might be the Pass Lock Sensor( anti theft) part of the ign cylinder.

Does your security light stay on for a little while when it doesn't crank?
