The O-rings for the laminova cores are sort of flimsy and can get warped/swollen over time, especially if the laminovas have been pulled a few times. OP's car is stock though it seems, would be unlikely for there to be a leak there. Definitely need a new pump in there before knowing for sure.

I'm so puzzled but it had my pump arrived today. I am planning on replacing tomorrow before the Ohio cobalt meet. And it's raining off and on here. But it may just be more air pockets but there is no liquid anywhere I am ever putting a flat piece of dry cardboard and I find nothing. Not even drops

Sounds like you're doing some good basic maintenance to keep her running strong. Replace that pump and report back your results.

Yeah took me 3 hours I felt like an idiot it was hard to get the top hose off for me once the clip was pushed up. I had to hav my mom hold it from the top of the car while I pushed down. But it's done it works I'm happy (somewhat) and hockey: coolant seems to be staying in the car now I drove it a couple times and air pockets were getting worked out since I drained it all ill keep you all updated as I drive it more frequently

Well good thing you at least got it done. Yeah the hoses SUCKED getting off... i put vice grips on the hose clamp to keep it opened up....and i literally just ended up PULLING as hard as i could... and they eventually pulled off.

I need to check when i get home to make sure the coolant level in the reservoir is still good.... since ive driven it now for a couple days.... just to make sure no more air is in there...

that's great to hear, good job. Those clamps/hoses are awful to get off if they have never been removed before.

While ur car is running, slowly fill through the filler neck with coolant/water.

Until you cant get any more in there.

If the fluid is moving through the filler neck consistantly, you are good to go. Without cooling flowing through it, the i.c. System is not working.

If the fluid is up to the top but not moving through (left to right by the way) then your pump is not working.

Go under the car and right behind the heat exchanger, on the block (fton side, bottom, closer to.drivers side) there is a pump with two hoses coming from it. Tap it with a hammer a few times to see if it frees up the pump.

It may work for a while if not replace it then.
thankx for the info burner , helped me find the problem
