Knock Sensor Problem?
Knock Sensor Problem?
Okay, so I don't have my gauges in yet, so the only way for me to tell if I'm getting knock is to take it into my tuner an have it checked. But this is the issue I had this last weekend. I was racing someone and missed 3rd, so I let off and we went to race again. Now the last 3 times we had run that night I pulled him by around 4-5 cars. Then, after I had missed third in the previous race, we go again and he is right next to me. So i figure the knock sensor probably read knock (or thought it did) and pulled timing.
Later that night I hit a bump, a pretty good size one, but nothing bad enough to damage a rim. And the car just shut off on me. Now all the power/electricals stayed on, but the engine turned off.
So that got me thinking that maybe I have a bad knock sensor? Anyone else experience anything like this?
Oh, and I would like to add, that the tune I am running saw absolutely no knock on the dyno or on the road while tuning.

when your knock sensor detects knock, it doesnt pull timing for long.
it pulls a certain amount based on how bad the knock was....and then about 1 second later it starts applying timing back 1* at a time every second or so until your back to normal, as long as it doesnt detect further knock.
It doesnt sound like a knock sensor causin your problem there....
if it was. you could garuntee you would go into limp mode.

ahhh
these things are important to tell us when asking questions about knock :P
silly
Sry man. I dont know what to tell you,
generally when your messin with things computerised.., its a good idea to save your current config, roll back to a previous config that you know works....and begin troubleshooting.
