Was driving home today when i came to a stop light i starting hearing a real loud knocking sound coming from the motor i rev it and it stop. i took off drove the rest of the way home and ran fine didn,t hear the noise any more. This also did the same thing bout a month ago when i pulled in my driveway and the car was idleing and it just started knocking i did the same thing rev the motor and it stopped making the knocking noise. I've been reading some things on hear bout timing chains and timing chain tensioner issue just wondering if that could be the problem. Would something like that be covered on power train warranty

 

yes that SHOULD be covered, unless they can prove it was something you purposely did to cause it. You may be out of warranty depending delivery date and mileage and stuff, unless you bought an extended plan

Doesnt sound like a good noise....hopefully its bad enough for them not to tell you the term GM likes to use so often..."normal operation" haha
